The following are examples of my work as a community planner, most of which I performed over thirty years as a Planning Director for the City of South Portland, ME:

  • Creating a Transit Oriented Development Tax Increment Financing District in State statute.

  • Revitalizing the Knightville neighborhood after it was bypassed by the new Casco Bay Bridge.

  • Extending several sections of the Greenbelt Walkway and obtaining voter approval of a Pedestrian and Traffic Improvements Bond.

  • As member of a team, creating the ability of municipalities to own streetlights on utility poles.

  • Installing solar panels on the Planning Department building and paving the way for the installation of a solar array at the City’s landfill.

  • Conducting a series of climate change book reading group meetings.
