BACKGROUND
The following are examples of my work as a community planner, most of which I performed over thirty years as a Planning Director for the City of South Portland, ME:
Creating a Transit Oriented Development Tax Increment Financing District in State statute.
Revitalizing the Knightville neighborhood after it was bypassed by the new Casco Bay Bridge.
Extending several sections of the Greenbelt Walkway and obtaining voter approval of a Pedestrian and Traffic Improvements Bond.
As member of a team, creating the ability of municipalities to own streetlights on utility poles.
Installing solar panels on the Planning Department building and paving the way for the installation of a solar array at the City’s landfill.
Conducting a series of climate change book reading group meetings.
